Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years in China and is acknowledged to be a safe and effective form of treatment to bring about recovery from a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Acupuncture can avoid or reduce the need for medication in many cases but can also work safely in conjunction with conventional medicine where a combined approach is appropriate for the patient.
The treatment involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into selected points on the body. The number of points and location depends on the energy levels of the patient and the condition being treated. Needles may be left in for up to 20 minutes, a smouldering herb called Moxa may also be held close to the skin to warm certain points where necessary.
