Chiropractors are independent primary healthcare professionals who specialise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal (muscle and joint) disorders. Such disorders may arise from injuries, disability, postural problems, over/under/misuse, sporting trauma etc.
Dr. of Chiropractic is a protected title and requires 5 years full time formal training in the UK. All chiropractors are government regulated. I am also a member of the British Chiropractic Association and the General Chiropractic Council.
Our treatments are drug free and non-invasive. We use ‘hands on’ treatment techniques to unlock stiff joints, restore correct function and mobility and alleviate pain. We are trained in specific manipulation techniques (chiropractic adjustments) for complete corrective care. We may request x-rays but only when indicated for further information on your condition and to assist with the diagnosis and subsequent treatment plans.
Chiropractic offers a package of healthcare that can work independently or alongside treatment prescribed by NHS doctors and other healthcare professionals. Although it is not necessary to have a doctor’s referral to see a chiropractor we often see patients who have been referred by their GP and we maintain good communication links with practices.
DO I NEED CHIROPRACTIC OR PHYSIOTHERAPY?
This is personal choice. Most of my patients chose to see me as they know they already respond well to chiropractic care. If this approach has worked for you in the past then that is a good indicator of its continued success.
Due to my background in massage and soft tissue work I have a broad repertoire of techniques to call upon. Whilst general chiropractic can have a bit of a reputation for strength of technique I can also use extremely delicate yet effective approaches to treatments.
WHAT CAN I OFFER YOU?
In my experience patients want to know 3 things
1) What’s the problem?
2) Whether I can fix it
3) How much will it cost?
The purpose of the initial consultation is to answer these 3 questions and commence treatment if appropriate.
You will receive a Report of Findings explaining what I believe is causing the problem. And providing I believe I can help you will also receive an individual programme of care.
